Yesterday...

...was a good run. Managed to get completely drenched head to toe. Not just the normal "wow I'm sweaty" but the "I just got completely misted by a garden hose for a half hour" sweaty. Talk about some nice endos pumping through. Ankle is holding up well, which is good - guess milk actually does something huh?

On another note, operation softserve icecream is progressing remarkably well. I might get to use my kbar again sooner that I had thought.

Ok so when I was little

..well maybe not that little, I managed to get my hands on all sorts of raw materials (chemicals) in which to make a variety of pyrotechinic fun things. We use to dabble in all sorts of explosive recipes and its probably a miracle I'm still completely whole. Kinda feel like I'm making a new concoction, hoping - *praying* - to God it doesn't blow up in my face. I suppose time will tell if my labor produces something wonderful or something extremely deadly.

Was that vague enough?

Ugh cold

Stupid FL is suppose to be warm. Its no fun running a butt ton of miles when your blood is freezing =/

On another note, I've got my full manuscript out to one, and a portion of it out to another for some prelim feed back. It sure would be nice if they would finish some time. Is that too much to ask?

And thought provoking Q for the day: (True/False) Is the first thing that you think of when you wake up (aside from maybe 'I gotta make a head call') whats weighing on your mind the most?

Happy near year and stuff

Ok, so Marine Corps Marathon, 2006. I'll be there. And no, this isnt a stupid NYs resolution that will be over by the time I type this. I've been meaning to enter for as long as I can remember (well, as long as I was over 18 and I can remember) and I can/do run short races (5k) at a decent pace for my old, crippled body, so I might as well train (I decided a couple months ago). Technically my physical peak in terms of potential is when I'm 32, so that leaves me 5 years from now. I could enter the 2005 one and complete it (bare minimum pace is 15 min miles - 4 mph - which is no problem, even for 26 miles), but Im not sure if I can make that date.

So today the first day of training schedule and a cross train day. Did 20+ (23-24?) mins "uphill" on the norditrack and a decent pace. Tomorrow is a semi off day, but I'll be doing a couple miles then too. Overall goal is of course 26 miles at week 26 (no official race, just to do it). At first I wasn't sure where I would complete the run, since you obviously want to stay well hydrated, then I remembered there's actually a 1 mile loop thats used for running nearby, complete with restrooms and more importantly, water. So each lap around I'll take a few seconds to slow down (need to pace anyway) and take some water. Good enough. And should I kill myself in the process, the hospital is only a mile or two away :)
